On a recent visit to Los Angeles, I was in search of a good post-workout smoothie after my favorite SoulCycle class in Hollywood, when a front desk staff member recommended the Fuel Bar at Barry’s Bootcamp across the street. Being #basic, I was entranced by their Skinny PB smoothie option – packed with protein and low on the sugar. I ordered a vanilla and slurped down the whole thing before my Uber could arrive and take me away.
As soon as I got home I made an effort to recreate the delicious peanut butter, banana and vanilla flavor and came up with the following recipe.
Ingredients: 1 cup of almond or cashew milk, 1/2 banana, 3 tbs PB2 powdered peanut butter, half a packet of Vega Vanilla Protein Powder, ice and cold water.
Place 4-5 ice cubes in blender.
Add 3 tbs PB2 or your favorite powdered peanut butter.
Scoop in half a packet of vanilla protein powder.
Slice half a banana and add in the slices.
Fill blender with 1-2 cups of almond cashew milk.
Add additional cold water for a “skinnier” (less creamy) flavor.
